Worlds oldest hotel

This is Hōshi Ryokan, a hotel and spa in Komatsu, Japan. It has been running for nearly 1,300 years by 46 generations of the same family! It first opened its doors in 718 AD by a Buddhist disciple, Taicho Daishi, who had a vision in his sleep about an underwater spring with healing powers. The next day he went to the location from his dream and with the help of the local villagers, they unearthed the spring. To this day, the spring attracts many visitors who believe that they will be revitalised and healed by the water. The hotel has around 100 guest rooms, 2 indoor hot springs and 2 outdoor hot springs. Rooms are around $580 (£345) and include breakfast and dinner.
